Silverfish
Silverfish can be white, brownish gray, or blueish silver in color and typically grow to be about 1/2″ to 3/4″ in length. They have a teardrop or carrot shape and have 3 appendages that grown from their rear. Silverfish feed on sugars and starches and can cause extensive damage to books, other paper products, and natural fibers such as linen and silk. Controlling humidity, eliminating potential feeding sites, and caulking baseboards call all help to prevent a silverfish infestation.
